This track tells the story of the Irish legend of the Morrigan, a mythological figure from the Tuatha dé Danann. She is a shapeshifter often appearing as a raven or as a mother, maiden or crone. She is an omen of death and is often associated with the Banshee.

There is a myth whispered among those brave enough to speak it
A tale of darkness and woe so black and twisted nary a child is spared from tears
nor a grown man from troubled sleep
The legend tells of a figure woven throughout history
Shapeless and formless as the mists through which she moves
O'er aeons and ages her shadow has loomed
Lurking in darkness, observing the follies of mankind
To some she appears as a maiden fair
Young as the dawn with emerald eyes and hair ablaze
Effortlessly stirring hearts and desire in her wake
To others, a mother
Fierce and stern, protective and proud
A caring, nurturing hand to steer those who wander astray
There are those to whom her visage is that of a haggard crone
Hunched on her crooked cane, scowling through faded eyes
She is age personified, a mirror on mortality
Now obsidian omens blacken the Sun
The air thickens with the stench of death
And on wings of night, she appears
